Shilpa Shinde - Another Achievement

Producer of TV serial, ‘Lal Mirch Hari Mirch’ Rakesh Chaudhry had filed a case against actress Shilpa Shinde in the city civil court and the court passed an order against her of property attachment. Following the order Shilpa appealed in the High Court and the Court gave the decision in her favour. In its judgment of 12th June 2008, the Court stated that a producer/director can neither force an artist not to work somewhere else just by the taking the dates nor make him or her sit idle. And what concerns to the Agreement is it should be from both parties. In the High Court Shilpa Shilde was represented by advocate Rohini Vakil. 

Shilpa Shinde is very happy and tries to dispel the misunderstanding over the issue. “I was hired to do a weekly serial what Hari Mirch Lal Mirch initially was. Of late they made it biweekly and wanted double of my time. As my commitments lie to other producers also I was not able give. Where is my fault? I cannot sacrifice one for another. And Rakeshji’s blame of my being an unprofessional artist is his expression of exasperation. Had I been an unprofessional artist, ‘Creative Eye’, one of the biggest production houses, would not have provided me my advocated Rohini. Having learnt from this experience she says, “One should sign an agreement only after reading it properly, and the artist must his own agreement also.” Now let’s see how many issue will come about agreement?

SHILPA’S YOGA - The Secret of Shilpa Shetty’s Fitness revealed on DVDs and VCDs on Shemaroo Entertainment to the fitness lovers. Shilpa is going to share her secrets of her fitness of a Sound Mind, Body and Soul in today's chaotic world, through an instructional video based on the ancient Indian practice of yoga.The yoga video is shot at the beautiful backwaters of Gods own country 'Kerla'. Janaradhan Wishvanbhar Rane (Paresh Rawal) a widower has spent his life bringing up his two kids Chirag (Manoj Joshi) and Gaurav (Akshaye Khanna). Janaradhan has done everything for their kids to bring them up in the best possible manner, ever since they were toddlers. Now when the duos have grown up; Gaurav takes up responsibility of his father. They both manage the household chores and their business with best of their abilities. Though he is the younger son, he treats his father like his son. Gaurav is on the guard with the vigilance of a disciplined parent. He shouts, threatens, and fights - even locks up his father occasionally so that his prankster best friend Madhav Mathur (Om Puri) who is a divorcee, desperate to get married, does not spoil him. 

Madhav and Janaradhan who are always in search of bride for Madhav forever land up in trouble and every time Gaurav has to bail them out and face the embarrassment. Gaurav busy managing his business starts getting prank calls from a girl who turns out to be his old college friend Sheekha Kapoor (Genelia D'souza). Sheekha is staying with her guardian Anuradha (Shobana) who is also Paresh's first love.

Shilpa Shinde

‘Zee T.V.’ Serial ‘Maayka’ has become synomous to the character ‘Soni’ played by Shilpa Shinde. She has endeared  all and sundry by her rona-dhona in Maayka. Her role in ‘Bhabhi’, ‘Kabhi Aaye Na Judai,“ Sanjaveeni”, ‘Naqaab”, “Miss. India” and ‘Amrapali’ got her a lot of applaud and appreciations. With Veer (Vineet Raina) she made one of the most loveable pair of small screen. Her fan club is proof of her popularity where thousands of her fan interact each other.

Despite of all fan fallowing and popularity she will be quitting Maayka in June when her contract is expiring. She is in no mood to extend the contract as the role has reached its stagnation point. “Today Maayka is a hit serial. I don’t want get typecast like Prerna. Tulsi and parvati. I want to quit the serial when it is still popular, so people will remember me as a heroine of the hit serial, not of a boring one – what actually happens when a serial is stretched infinitely”, Shilpa Shinde justifies her decision. She also doesn’t understand the logic behind killing Veer (Vineet) when the pair so popular. Some reliable sources say that the real reason lies somewhere, and hinted  that she like Veer’s proximity and cannot tolerate his exit from the serial.  

After doing a negative role in ‘Bhabhi’ she has been getting a lot of offers for the same but she wants to change her image. As she denied repeating herself, she lost out on many opportunities of satellite channels. For this reason she stopped accepting any negative role and preferred to be off air for some time.And after that she done many serials like Maayka. Now again She don’t want to be type cast in any type of role.  

World's first true rewind film

Thanks to PVR, audiences in India will now get to see and appreciate one of the most talked about and acclaimed Indian short film in recent times. Distributed by PVR Limited, REWIND is set to become the first Indian short film to release in theatres in India. REWIND will have a staggered all India release.

REWIND is scheduled to release in theatres in Mumbai on May 23, 2008 with the widely acclaimed Michel Gondry comedy BE KIND REWIND. Noted for his inventive visual style and manipulation of Mise en Scéne, Michel Gondry is the acclaimed director of the academy award winning ETERNAL SUNSHINE OF THE SPOTLESS MIND. REWIND will be screened as a bonus film prior to BE KIND REWIND. After Mumbai, it will release in all major cities in India. 

Producer Ketan Gohil is upbeat. Says Ketan, “PVR has always provided a platform for good cinema. It is a matter of great pride that REWIND is being released by the same company which produced TAARE ZAMEEN PAR. REWIND has seen the best of festivals, has been taken over for international distribution by the largest short film distributor in the world (Shorts International) and now, thanks to PVR, is also releasing theatrically in India. The only stop left for us to make is the Oscars. God willing, we will cross that frontier too.”  

“It is extremely gratifying that REWIND is seeing this kind of success. We are really grateful to PVR for releasing REWIND theatrically. Now the film can be seen on the big screen. That is the way we wanted the film to be viewed, unlike say on a DVD”, says Writer-Director Atul Taishete.

It is probably the world's first true reverse film. Unlike a MEMENTO or IRREVERSIBLE, REWIND is a shot by shot reverse film. It is also a first where the film is moving in reverse while the voiceover is moving forward.

The August Kranti (August Revolution), which took place in Ballia in Uttar Pradesh, is one among the most inspiring chapters of the Quit India Movement of 1942. The Indian National Congress at its Bombay session (August 1942) passed the famous Quit India resolution, calling for a mass struggle under the leadership of Mahatma Gandhi. All the major leaders were arrested and the Congress itself was declared illegal. A dismayed India reacted spontaneously against this repressive act. Popular revolts broke out across the length and breadth of the country, with the battle cry of "British Quit India". In Ballia District of U.P. the revolt started with protest demonstrations of the students. The arrest of a few girls and at-random firing by the police in the market sent a wave of indignation into the hearts of the people. The resultant anger and excitement led to spontaneous acts of protest like removal of rails, cutting of telegraph wires and burning of railway and police stations in the rural areas.

This TV Series (Daily Soap) of around 250 Episodes is based upon this historic Event and will be shown on soon to be launched 'MAHUA TV'. The series is being made in Bhojpuri language but keeping the authenticity in mind of of the main charectors will speak in Hindi and English. The team of ASR Telefilms has just returned from the outdoor shooting which was done at the real locations of Ballia, Uttar Pradesh. The team shot for about 20 days using best of the technicians and equipment. The serial will go on Air from 11th of August when MAHUA TV will be launched.

There was a neck to neck competition between “Desi Dhurandhar” and “Metro Rockers”. On this victory many film personalities, Cricketers and politicians congratulates to Manoj Tiwari including Yuvarj Singh, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Ravina Tandon, Kumar Sanu and Roshni Chopra.

A Nederland stamp on Sudhir Kumar

Last month, the entire Bhojpuri film industry was shocked, when we came up with the news that the Dutch postal stamp issued on Bhojpuri superstar Manoj Tiwari is not actually an official stamp – but a personalized one, which can be made by anyone after paying some price to TNT Post (the private agency, which works as the postal department in Holland (Netherlands). Reacting to this news, Manoj Tiwari - in his column in a Hindi daily in Mumbai (and in a Film Magazine) - blamed Bhojpuria.com as a website being run by a friend of Ravi Kishan. He even tried to question the credibility of the website.

"By the help of Ravi Kishan, some people are trying to defame me... this stamp is an official one and not the purchased one. Two Indian names were put forward for the honour - Musician Pandit Hari Prasad Chaurasia and mine - the fact that I was chosen over a man of such stature and seniority fills me with both pride and humility," Manoj told a news agency. He even challenged media that if any other Indian gets this stamp, he will leave the film industry. 

Now, to the worst of Manoj's imagination, Bhojpuria.com has been successful in getting a similar stamp with the photo of its director Sudhir Kumar. Other than the photograph, the stamp is same. "We were pretty shocked by the allegations of Manoj Tiwari. We requested our visitors to help us prove our point, and one of our visitors from Netherlands – Helga Kommers - had posted the stamps to us in an envelope with my stamp on it," said Sudhir Kumar, director of Bhojpuria.com. "It is pretty easy to have this kind of stamp made online with any photo on it, and it costs Rs. 600 (9 Euro) only. But, this facility is available only for the residents of Netherlands," added Kumar. 

Manoj Tiwari for 9X

How come Manoj Tiwari got it - As per a close associate of Tiwari, he was in touch with a Netherlands resident (Arun), who made this stamp for him in return to some personal benefit (?). After that, Manoj used his stardom to encash this "honour" (?) to the fullest extent. Arun has been reportedly left India, on the same day, when this news broke up.

What Next... Now, since Manoj is caught, will he leave the film industry, as he challenged??? Of course it will be a big loss for the Bhojpuri film industry, and we do not want him to do so… but what about the claims he made about Pt. Hari Prasad Chaurasia - hence defaming him – will he forgive him?

What about the false claims he (and his associates) made to the Governor of Bihar? Will Bihar Government forgive him for the same? "You are invited to the felicitation ceremony of Manoj Tiwari, on the occasion of getting an official stamp by the Netherlands Govt," was written on the invitation letter of the programme of "Bhojpuri Viswa", in which the Governor felicitated Tiwari. Also, Is it so easy for anyone to fool media to use it in his favor? A noted English daily wrote an editorial on this honour(?), and everyone knows that, how the same editorial was used in media to prove the point... and to get more publicity. Will the people of Netherlands forgive him for using the name of their Queen (and Govt) just to prove a false point? The people over there are not happy over all these, suggests a Bhojpuria.com survey.

Should we forget that how he tried to defame Bhojpuria.com, on this issue ? Don't you think that Manoj Tiwari had tried to defame the image of Bhojpuria society by this shemful act? Don't you think, this incident will give yet another reason of non-trust to our enemies in Assam & Maharastra? Several more similar questions are there, which needs to be answered by Manoj Tiwari only.

This singer Kalpana is making it big in the small screen. She is one of the strong contender of NDTV IMAGINE’s new musical reality show JUNOON…..Kuchh Kar Dikhaane Ka ! Kalpana is represent the folk team “Maati Ke Laal”, presenting folk songs from UP/Bihar/ Assam. The show started with a very grand opening by dashing ever charming talented actor Hritik Roshan. Illa Arun represented Kalpana from folk group as Triveni of river Bhramaputra and Ganga as she has taken the responsibility of three states-UP, Bihar & Assam. Says Kalpana, I am from northeast, ASSAM . Northeast is a reservoir of talent but it hurts when people consider the region different from India . She feels that north-eastern India is a reservoir of talent but it has not been given due recognition because the region suffers from a sense of geographical and social alienation. She is 'hurt' that many people do not consider the northeast as a part of India . For example, in the television music talent hunt reality shows contestants from our region do well. And the nation must realise that they (participants) reach there because of their talent, not favouritism. I want the rest of the country to cherish it, but respect for the region is lacking,' KALPANA told. Kalpana holds the local residents equally responsible. 'Talents from the region are not being recognised. To a certain extent, we (northeast residents) are also responsible for it because we don't remind them about our potential.

But without any support she made it big in Mumbai film industry. She has truly confirmed that language has no barrier. It would be injustice to put a tag (Bhojpuri Singer) on Kalpana. If we correctly analyze she can really sing in different languages. Says Kalpana,I had no support or godfather in Mumbai .But thanks to the people of UP & BIHAR who gave me full support and made Kalpana a big name in Bhojpuri music industry. She says, today with this show JUNOON people are getting to know the richness of Bhojpuri music. I wish if Laluji extend his best wishes & moral support to promote Bhojpuri as he is the only international super star.

Usually the Bhojpuri Film makers do not go beyond sticks, firearms and explosives. This is more due to shoe string budget which does not allow them to experiment with technically strong but costlier options. Cable fight is one of these techniques which have been extensively used in Munna Bajarangi. Producer Reena S. Pasi says that her film is based on student politics and mafias. This film has been directed by K.D.( Nirahua Rickshawalla fame), a well known director of Bhojpuri Films with many super hits to his credits.

The story of the film moves around two friends in a village, where Vikrant Singh follows the path of violance and revenge against the villains who have destroyed his family and vitiated the social atmosphere. His friend Sushil Singh helps him in all such issues. Sushil singh is well known Villain of Bhojpuri Industries . First time he is playing hero. The Music Director of the film is Rajesh Gupta, and Lyrics have been written by Vinay Bihari. The Story and dialogues of the film are written by Santosh Mishra.
